SATURDAY COUNTDOWN IS ON

LEICESTER are counting down to one of their biggest meetings of the season with a rematch of the 2019 Grand Final this Saturday (7pm).

Glasgow are the visitors to the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena at Beaumont Park in what promises to be a Championship classic.

Boss Stewart Dickson is urging fans to get behind his side as they look to strengthen their claim for a top six place and a play-off spot.

He believes the Watling JCB Lions aren’t at their best but when they click they will be a tough team to beat.

“Nobody needs reminding what a big meeting this is on Saturday and it should be a great night of racing,” he said.

“We’re not the finished article, we’ve got some work to do on that front, but I’m confident when we all click we’ll be a top team.

“Glasgow are strong and they’ll come here determined to get a result so I’m really looking forward to a big night of speedway. Our fans can make a difference and it’s a great chance to bring a friend for their first experience of the sport.”

Nick Morris remains on the sidelines for Leicester as a result of concussion sustained at King’s Lynn last week.

Thankfully Ryan Douglas should be fine after crashing heavily in front of the Eurosport cameras at Wolverhampton on Monday, landing awkwardly.

“I should be fine, I’m pretty stiff and sore but I should be fine, I guess I’m lucky,” he said.

Leicester youngster Ben Trigger, a member of their National Development League side, was in fine form on Monday when he won the British Youth Championship meeting with a six-ride maximum.

The club would like to congratulate Ben and all the competitors who made the day such a success.
